General Rules

The rules of my Fantasy Formula 1 game are as follows:

  • You have a budget of 100 million to spend on 2 cars, 2 drivers and 1 tyre supplier

  • You must buy 2 cars, 2 drivers and 1 tyre supplier and their total value must not exceed 100 million

  • You may spend 100 million or less

    Gaining Points

Points can be gained in different ways as follows:

  • Each of your drivers gains points if they finish in the top eight - 1st=10 points, 2nd=8 points, 3rd=6 points, 4th=5 points, 5th=4 points, 6th=3 points, 7th=2 points and 8th=1 point

  • Each of your drivers gains 1 point for every place higher they achieve from their grid position providing that they finish the race, eg if one of your drivers is 10th on the grid and finishes 7th in the race, he gains 3 points (plus the 2 points for finishing seventh)

  • Each of your cars gains points if they finish in the top eight - 1st=10 points, 2nd=8 points, 3rd=6 points, 4th=5 points, 5th=4 points, 6th=3 points, 7th=2 points and 8th=1 point. If you picked Ferrari, and Michael Schumacher and Rubens Barrichello both scored points, then the one who scored the most points would give Ferrari that number of points

  • Each of your cars gains 1 point for every place higher they achieve from their grid position providing that they finish the race, eg if one of your cars is 10th on the grid and finishes 7th in the race, it gains 3 points (plus the 2 points for finishing seventh)

  • You get 2 points if the team that has the same kind of tyres as you have wins the race, and 1 point if they get pole position, eg if you picked Bridgestone tyres and a Ferrari won the race, then you would get 2 points since Ferrari has Bridgestone tyres

    Bonuses

  • Each of your drivers gains 5 points if they beat their teammate in the race, eg if you picked Michael Schumacher and he beats his teammate, Rubens Barrichello in the race, then Michael Schumacher gets 5 points. If both of your drivers are in the same team, then the one who finishes higher than the other would get the points. If both of your drivers retire, then neither gets 5 points

  • If both of the drivers that drive for one of your cars come 1st and 2nd in the 1st Qualifying session, your car will be awarded a 3 point bonus

  • If both of the drivers that drive for one of your cars come 1st and 2nd in the 2nd Qualifying session, your car will be awarded a 5 point bonus

  • Both of your drivers will gain 1 point for every place higher they achieve in the 2nd Qualifying session than in the 1st session, for example, if one of your drivers comes 6th in the 1st Qualifying session, then comes 4th in the 2nd session, he will be awarded 2 points

  • Both of your cars will gain 1 point for every place higher they achieve in the 2nd Qualifying session than in the 1st session, for example, if one of your cars comes 6th in the 1st Qualifying session, then comes 4th in the 2nd session, it will be awarded 2 points. Points can only be given by one driver of each car, for example, if you picked Ferrari, and Michael Schumacher gained 2 points for moving up two positions, and Rubens Barrichello only gained 1 point, then your car will be awarded 2 points because it was the most achieved between the two drivers

  • If both of the drivers that drive for one of your cars come 1st and 2nd in the race, your car will be awarded a 5 point bonus
  • If one of your drivers wins 3 races in a row in the same season, he will be awarded a 20 point bonus

  • If one of your drivers wins 5 races in a row in the same season, he will be awarded a 50 point bonus

  • If one of your drivers does not retire once in the same season, he will be awarded a 75 point bonus

  • If one of your drivers gets pole position in every race and wins every race in the same season, he will be awarded a 10000 point bonus

  • Bonus Circuit - The points you score at one of the circuits of your choice this season will be trebled. You must choose which circuit that you would like your points total to be trebled at the same time as you choose your team. You may not change this circuit in mid-season. Tip - Choose a circuit which you think you will score the most points at, or have in recent seasons. Your choice will be kept confidential until every racer has made their choice.

    Negatives

  • Both of your drivers will lose 1 point for every place lower they achieve in the 2nd Qualifying session than in the 1st session, for example, if one of your drivers comes 6th in the 1st Qualifying session, then comes 8th in the 2nd session, he will lose 2 points

  • Both of your cars will lose 1 point for every place lower they achieve in the 2nd Qualifying session than in the 1st session, for example, if one of your cars comes 6th in the 1st Qualifying session, then comes 8th in the 2nd session, it will lose 2 points. Points can only be lost by one driver of each car, for example, if you picked Ferrari, and Michael Schumacher lost 2 points for moving down two positions, and Rubens Barrichello only lost 1 point, then your car will lose 2 points because it was the most points lost between the two drivers. If neither driver loses any positions in the 2nd session, then your car will not lose any points

  • If one of your drivers finishes the race in last place out of those who did not retire, then he will lose 5 points

  • If one of your cars finishes the race in last place out of those that did not retire, then it will lose 5 points. If the driver of that car happens to be in your team, he will still lose 5 points, making it an overall loss of 10 points

  • If one of your drivers has to use a new engine during the race weekend, he will lose 10 points

  • If one of your cars has to use a new engine during the race weekend, it will lose 10 points. If the driver of that car happens to be one of the drivers in your team, he will still lose 10 points, making it an overall loss of 20 points

    Example Team

    Ferrari - 1st from 1st = 10 points

    Minardi-Ford - 7th from 10th = 5 points

    Mark Webber - 8th from 14th = 7 points

    Giorgio Pantano - 2nd from 3rd = 9 points

    Bridgestone - 1st and pole = 3 points

    Total = 34 points
